Photos I printed last night

Last night in photography I printed this photo and the one below ^_^
We also got our old teacher back, which makes me happy. The other guys did know a lot and was interesting to listen to for a little while, but he started to get annoying with all of his lecturing about nothing. It also meant we had less lab time since he was talking so dam much! but our normal teacher is back, so the class can get back to doing it's normal thing ^_^

this is the darker version of this photo. Still far from perfect, but at least I got this project done. I kind of wish I had chosen a better photo since I had far more interesting photos to pick from. I guess the only reason I choose this photo was because I do spend a lot of time at the Apple Box since that's dads favorite place to go get coffee at. So within the assignment the photo made the most amount of sense.... though honestly I really hate this photo compared to some of the other (far more interesting) photos I could have picked.
Well, when mom gets the scanner hooked up to a computer I'll scan in my negatives and hopefully post some of the photos I didn't enlarge in the dark room.

This is what I was working on last night. I had enough time to develop the film and do a couple of prints. This print ended up light so I'll have to go back and do another print tomorrow, but I think I'll have enough time. (since we have to have one print ready by 8:30pm)

oh yeah, I threw a costume together! even though I'm not going any where tonight.... well I think we'll go out to dinner, but that's about it.

Photography Class
So last night we got our new teacher for photography. He's pretty amusing actually and seems like a nice guy. he's a lot older than out last teacher and talks a lot more and sort of reminds me of the way dad rambles sometimes... but at least he's rambling about photography, so it's ok.

Also last night I realized something, most everyone in my class is really lazy. seriously, I've been done with the light and shadow project for a week now, and that's with trying to improve what I had already! so technically I've been done for 2 weeks. Now there are people still working on this project and there is even one person who hasn't even made a photo enlargement yet. Seriously. Last night he was saying that he needed to shoot the roll of film again since he forgot to change the settings on his camera so it all got over exposed. ok, sounds ok right? Well, he knew about this LAST WEDNESDAY. (I know since I heard him and the TA talking about his proof sheet and what might have gone wrong) That's a freaking week since we had no class on Monday. You'd think a whole week would be enough time to shoot another roll of film and have it ready to develop, but no, he had nothing.
*shakes head*
why are the people in my class so freaking lazy? I want to move on, I want a new project, dammit! >_

Boy, do I feel stupid
So yesterday I spent most of the day taking photos for class since I didn't like how my last two projects ended up. I thought I did a pretty good job with the new photos and that they would end up good.
So, here's where I went wrong. Today we are going to be in the darkroom the whole class and I wanted all that time for doing prints, feeling I had no time to develop film. So I thought I'd take a shortcut and just have my film developed at Target. Well, apparently my film can't be developed there, but unfortunately the guy that developed the film didn't know that and when I got it back it was blank, completely blank! The film was WAY underdeveloped >_<
unfortunately once you process it there isn't anything you can do afterwards. So there I was, stuck with a roll of blank film.

The lady did give us $9 of target credit and a note saying that I can get one roll of film developed there for free. (and of course she didn't charge me for the roll of film)
but I'm still sad I lost that whole roll of film ;_;

Today at photography

We did A LOT in photography today! I developed my pinhole photo (above), did a photogram (behind the cut) AND developed my roll of film I took over the weekend. Yep, it was a very busy and fun class ^_^
Right now I am so glad I decided to take photography. I had some apprehension since I remembered not liking it so much in High School. But then again that was High School and the teacher, as nice as she was, just wasn't very good at teaching anything. or more precisely she didn't inspire anyone to do anymore than the bare minimum and wasn't very interesting, when it came down to it.
But this class is an entire different story. Aside from the fact that we actually have a drying cabinet that's more then just an empty cabinet (it has filters and air moving things); and that we actually have a water spinning thing to clean our photos instead of a bucket stuck in the sink with the water running, it's also just different since it's college and not High School.
Also, did I mention we have twice, no three times as many photo enlargers? Also we have a thing that actually drys your photos! you like stick it in and it rolls your photo through it. I was very amused by that. What? we had like nothing in our High School photo class. The closest was the dark room and we had like, 5 photo enlargers. I think. Also it was just cramped in that little dark room. But the one at the SRJC is so BIG and OPEN! the ceiling are tall and there's enough room for people to walk around without bumping into each other! I just love our dark room, seriously.

the other things we did in class today )

ok, I'm sleepy. bed now.

Pin hole photos
So today we developed our pin hole photos. Also since I got there early I was able to take more photos. Now, before I scanned them in and inverted them in photoshop, THIS is what the photos looked like when I developed them at school. and as you can tell the photos I'm posting are the one I altered in photoshop. Well, all I did was hit the invert button and then size them down.

any way, here's my photos with all the info ^_^
