this is actually a stuff toy that I've been looking at for a long time before I finally decided to buy one. Every time I passed by that store window I always thought about how strange and cute and cuddly those stuff toys looked. I think after 2 or 3 years of looking at it in the window I can be fairly sure that it's not just a passing fancy.

on on other things, I tried to get the Annwfn Video Podcast but my shitty portable hard drive seems to have finally kicked the bucket. Well, not entirely. It'll load all the files, let me see all the files and folder on the hard drive, but when I tried to do anything with them (like copy them to another hard drive) it gives me a "file not found" error. >_<
I am sooo pissed off. But at least mom has a buck up of all my photos and all my music is backed up already and on my new exsternal hard drive Minagi! ^__^
yes, I named my hard drives. The one that just kicked the bucket was named Kotomi and the portable drive before that was call Fuuko. Have I mentioned latly that I hate external hard drives? I have gone through TWO external hard drive and TWO portable drives! that's a total of FOUR external drives! all within a freaking year! ok, one of my externals lasted for a long time, but the others were still crap. Though I'm thinking that it may be a virus that I'm just copying over to the new drives that's killing so many off *headdesk*
I hate computer viruses..... why oh why do people have to do this to other people? are they bored? can't they find something else to amuse them selfs with? but then again that's pretty much the case with anything...... *sigh*
well, all I can do it keep backing up my files obsessively and hopefully I wont lose anything. *crosses fingures*

Yeah, so I've been having to deal with dad and his webcam and it not working and him screwing up and his girlfriend being dense for the past.... I'm not sure how long any more. Like 2 or 3 weeks now? I am starting to get ready to kill something! AHHHH!!! Why can't I make him understand how a computer works? ;_;
and why can't he just take a computer class. Let the professional teachers deal with him! though even they might get annoyed with him being as slow as he is o_O"

let's see, what else has been going on. Well, I went to art last night. Sorta. I was sitting there kinda of painting but mostly just hitting my paper with the brush and Aileen was like "You could go home now" since it was break time, and I was like "yeah... I probably should" me being freaking tired. I didn't get a whole lot of sleep the night before, but then again I haven't been getting much sleep anyway. I have such a hard time getting to sleep >_<
I guess it's because Jeff's not here and I'm used to him being with me.
*sigh* I miss Jeff ;_;
But at least he's only away for his anual training, not going over seas again. thaank goodness.

yes, I finally joined the dark side and started using firefox. and yes, I love it. Why did I wait so long to start using it, you ask? eh, I tried once before but for some odd reason it was really glitchy on my computer. The web browser kept shaking and whouldn't stay still , it was really weird o_O"
But it works fine now! ^_^
and I downloaded a whole ton of add-ons. hehe, I'm having way too much fun customizing my firefox ^_^

Well, the day started off with going over to dads house at 8:30am to help him and his girlfriend get all set up with their video chat. I thought it would be simple. install yahoo messenger, log him on, tell him the correct buttons to push and then I could go sleep on the couch while they chat. Well no, life is never that simple. Not when it comes to dad and computers any way.
First off his internet connection was slow. Very slow. It took forever to get yahoo messenger install on his computer because of it. and his girlfriend was waiting at the internet cafe for us to get everything going. Not to mention it was like 11pm over there, so she was starting to just want to go home.
any way, once I do get it all installed and dad logged on, she's not online. I add her screen name, try IMing her and she's just plainly not online. (or not accepting my friend invite) But she was saying (over the phone) that she was online and that we weren't! WTF? also I kept asking "are you using yahoo messenger?" and she'd say yes, but also say "You get your dad a hotmail account, yes?" and I was like "NO, we're using yahoo."
So all in all I think she was probably not logged into yahoo but some other instant messenger and I have no idea which one ether.
*sigh* I don't get paid enough to be their tech support.

on yeah, when dad was talking with her on the phone, he was saying "my daughter is very good with computers" and I could hear her laughing, like I was the one screwing up. But whatever, I find it amusing that she seems to think she's better at me when it comes to this sort of stuff. Cuz if she was, couldn't she be walking dad through all of this? So yeah, I just find it funny. ^_^

Though dad did buy me some tea from whole foods and then took me out for breakfast for helping him out with his computer. Though unfortunately I'm going to have to go back tomorrow morning (8am to be exact) and see if I can get them set up.

for dinner me, mom and Jeff went to the sports bar and we got drinks and yummy food. tehe, I'm a little drunk ^_^

and then I got home and watched my anime that finally loaded. Touka Gettan and CLAYMORE.
CLAYMORE is your average shounene type of fighting anime, while Touka Gettan is the most confusing anime I have ever seen! I'm not the only one that's confused ether!

er yeah. I'm off to bed now, I'm tired.

Well, after drooling over Vista for a while, I finally decided to just updated my current desktop since I do have DesktopX. I added a new weather things, a to-do list and also a little sticky note thing that I can write notes on and put them any where on my desktop ^_^
Also I made new wallpaper.( If you want to use it that link to the full sized image is below the screenshot ) I've though of adding other things, but I haven't thought of anything that I really need other than the weather widget.

any way, on other things me and Jeff went up to Travis so he could get more uniform stuff. We shopped around a little bit at the store there and I found out they sell Origins stuff there! it's 20% less than when they sell it for at Macy's or others places AND tax free! hehe, it makes me happy ^__^
After that we went to Barnes & Noble and I bought The Temple Of Shamanic Witchcraft, cuz it looked interesting and I wanted to read it. The library doesn't have a copy of it, other wise I probably would have just gotten it there before buying it, but oh well. At least I don't have to worry about returning it ^_^

so guess what? I now have TWO drives out of service. yeah, the second one was my fault and I am going to be kicking myself for it for a long time.
so what happened was when mom got the new C drive she split it into two drives and I thought "hey, I'll move everything from my F drive over to my E drive" but unfortunately mom hadn't formated the E drive drive. you can probably guess were this is going, you know with E and F looking so dam similar to each other.
so yes, I formatted the wrong dam drive. Every thing that was on F that I was just about to back up is gone. POOF! I am so pissed off at my self for screwing up so much. though mom said that its "an easy fix" she dosen't seem to be having any luck by the way she stressed out when I asked how it was going this morning. Also there is no news on whether or not I'll get my files from my old C drive.

why do computer have to crash? WHY???

so yesterday I woke up and went to my computer and found that it was trying to start up windows but failing miserably. I kept taking me to a screen that said it failed to start windows and gave me a few options like "start windows normally" and I tried that. it started to start windows but then restarted it's self and started the whole processes over again.
pretty much the drive is dead. mom is working on retrieving my files (like all my favorites and fonts) but in the mean time I have a completely new hard drive with pretty much nothing on it. well, I've been uploading things onto it all days, so it has all the important programs on it. like Photoshop, microsoft word, winamp. oh yeah, I need to put my ipod playlist back together >_<
and oh crap, I just realized I lost all of my podcast >_<
no fair! ;_;
I really hope mom manged to retrieve all of my files....

so last March some time (it's near the bottom of the page) I said that my D drive, other wise known as navi_2, was dead. completely and totally dead. a while later mom manged to recover the stuff off of the drive, but only as recovered_files_064.bmp and such.
well, a miracle has happened! after searching through many programs mom finally found a program that restored my drive to it's original state! so that means all the folders are there, all the psd files work and every thing is as I left it!!! ^___^
I am SOOOO happy! ^_^

ok, I'm going to go back to switching the old files over to my new hard drive

I thought I was done with my cold,but I am feeling worse this morning than I have in the past couple of days. I guess that other medicine really was helping. ;_;
last night I went out to buy more medicine but they didn't have the stuff I had been taking, but I thought it'd would be ok to switch to something else since I was feeling so much better already.... wow, was I wrong. I feel all dizzy and stuffy and everything ;_;

on good news mom has found a program that will recover all my files, in tact and even the folders. unfortunately it a bit expensive and it's actually a service, not a program, but if I can get ALL my files back in their folder and have nothing corrupted, I'll be willing to pay the extra money. I did use another program on another drive that died, but it got everything back as recovered_files_001.jpg and all the PSD files were corrupted, so were the zip files, and it didn't even get any of my text or html files! so if this works with my photo drive I'm going to use it on my old drive that died.
Also I bought a back up drive so this sort of thing doesn't happen again.

BUT on another positive note, if this program doesn't work for some odd reason I did just remember that I made a CD back up of all my photos and my writing not too long ago. maybe a month or so ago. but I still have lost quite a bit.
oh yeah, I forgot to mention that all my writing files were on my Photo drive since photos don't take up that much space. (compared to tons of mp3's and anime files) But thankfully I didn't lose too much and I DID back a back up of my NaNoWriMo story. it's times like this that I am glad I listened to the site when they told me to make a back up, just in case. you have no idea how horrible that would have been if I had lost all my photos AND my NaNo story!

any way, I think I'll go back to bed now.

is seems the program is a scam. even though it recovers my files you can't save any thing without paying for it, and when I say pay I mean a lot! $100 per GB to be exact. or that's what mom told me. Originally we thought it was $85 for 5GB, which while expensive I felt it was worth it to get all my files back. but $100 per GB is WAY to much!

I just tried to transfer all my photos from the vacation over from moms drive over to my via USB, which I thought might not be such a great idea but I NEVER thought it would do what it ended up doing, which was corrupt my photo drive.
yes, everything since around September is now gone, lost, POOF! Everything taken before that however is safely stored on my old hard drive, thankfully. Also the vacation photos are still on mom's hard drive (with the exception of the 9th and 10th), unless that thing some how got corrupted too.

angry, sad, a little hopefully that the drive will magically start working.... yeah. I can't even really tell you how I feel right now. being everyone should know how much I love taking photos and how many I have lost, you can guess I am not happy right now.....

maybe it'll start working again.... maybe.
