8:00am
Last night I actually got a good night rest! the broken lawn chair made a really nice bed! [PHOTO] There's a place my shoulder fits perfectly and I slept so good last night.
Also this morning we're eating the fish Jeff caught last night with a can of green beans we found, it's a good breakfast. [PHOTO]
ok, I'm going to eat now

11:35am
Last night Jeff caught a large fish [PHOTO]; 7 lbs small mouth bass, that's what Jeff says since he's reading this as I write.
any way, they tried putting it under water in a bag but a raccoon got to it. Thankfully it didn't get much, just part of the tail (which we cut off any way) so we were ok. That was the fish we ate this morning.
After eating me and Aileen went swimming to wash our clothes and our hair. After swimming around Joe and Jeff came back from fishing and Joe had caught a small fish. (perch, 3lbs, or so they say) Then we hung out on the air mattress,
Also while we were in the water we got to see a crow fight a squirrel.
ALSO before that we saw a turkey fly over us and then saw another one fly across the lake o_O"

12:15pm
Did I mention that we found two bottles of unopened 1L calistoga water bottles? After drinking filtered water that taste like lake the bottled stuff taste so I'm probably going to be really loving my smart water when I get home.

8:22pm
Well, it looks like the camping trip has ended early. Aileen got sick so we all decided it would be better to get out of there tonight instead of waiting till tomorrow to see if she would get better. Also I have a touch of something as well, but it;s no were near as bad as Aileen's case.

We were going to hike out, but then I joked that we should get a ride from one of our neighboring campers since they all had boats. Which actually sounded like a good idea. So we asked the people in the camp site next to us and they were more than happy to give us a lift. We also took Jeff and Joe's stuff since they still needed to hike back to were the car is.
So right now we're waiting for them at the marina

Day Three
Location: Buck Pasture
Camp Site: Seven

8:00am (or something like that)
Waking up sucked since I didn't sleep all that well. Also it was cold and wet, well damp.
The first part of the hike sucked since it was all up hill, but it got easier after. One the way I found a pretty feather ^_^

Upon arriving at the camp site we found a ton of things the last people left, Like a had light (no idea if it works), 4 cans of canned food, a lawn chair, large umbrella, fish bait, an air mattress (with the air pump), unopened bottled water and a ton of trash.
We're hoping the aren't going to come back so we can keep things like the lighter fluid and umbrella, and also take this camp site; site 7. the one we have (site 6) sucks. it's small and dosen't have much flat ground. so yeah...

Right now we're trying to boil water for our food and we found charcoal! Well, we had to move one of the larger logs since it didn't fit, but then the log set it's self of fire so we had to move it back, leaving behind a whole bunch of charcoal, yay! I made a not so pretty drawing.

12:40pm
Well, it's starting to look like no one is coming back, so we will probably get to stay here at this camp site, yay!
We dragged the mattress into the shade a while ago and since it looks ok we've been napping on it since. After sleeping on the ground for two days the air mattress feels really nice to lay on.

I went for a little swim today but it's no were near as hot as it was yesterday, and when wet it's actually a little chilly. oh well, I have no one to swim with since Aileen can't swim today. she has a blister and Joe wants her to let it air out and not get wet.

6:00pm
So far we haven't done a whole lot. Mainly nap and get freaked out every time a boat passed by. since we're at another camp site other then the one we we're suppose to be at.

though I think I'm starting to want to go home...

7:18pm
You know, I realize this is the first time I have spent so much time away from all the media and stuff in town. we're out here and see boats every now and then, but we're still out in the woods and away from the city. it's sort of odd, especially for someone like me who spends most of her day online. While I'm eating my freeze dry meal I can't help but think of (and want) a nice big, warm, fresh taco salad from MacNear's; or long for my comfortable bed as I sleep in my small sleeping bag on the ground. It's not like I expected it to be ultra comfortable out here, but I really didn't realize how much I would miss civilization, and I'm not even out in the woods, woods. o_O"
At least we have porter potties and a table to sit at. and hey, at this site we even have lawn chairs and an air mattress!

Day Two
Location: Old Saw Mill
Camp Site: One
Date: 7-9-2006

----------

8:00am (or something like that)
When I woke up I found me and my sleeping bag bad moved a good foot down hill o_O"
I also keep waking up during the night and finding the I couldn't feel my fingers on whatever side I was on.
This morning I needed to use the little girls room so I go down to the porter potties and the door is open. So I go around and there this guy sitting there o_O"
Dude, those things do have doors!

Right now we are all at the able and Jeff is cooking the fish he caught last night. We also discovered there are like a billion spiders under the table! seriously, I think something hatched...

5:10pm
After eating we all went down to the lake to bath and wash clothes. The Tree that me and Aileen were were swimming around yesterday was really useful. We were able to hang stuff off of it and sit on it while we washed our hair. We didn't want to do that on the shore since it was sort of muddy. Also Jeff swam out with us but Joe didn't.

So most of the day was swimming and napping. Every now and then we went down to the lake to filter water, but others wise it was mostly relaxing and talking.
oh yeah, I forgot to mention this, but the path down to the lake is straight down, well very steep any way. I think all the hiking we aren't going to be doing will be made up on that hill.

8:03pm
It's amazing how many deer are out here. I've seen at least 3 near our camp site between yesterday and today.

hmmm.... nothing else really interesting happened today.

Tomorrow we're going to get up early and head out to our next camp site before it gets hot.

Day One
Location: Old Saw Mill
Camp Site: One
Date: 7-8-2006

----------

8:03pm
The day started off with getting last minute things we needed at Longs and then getting breakfast at Bakers Square. Once we got to Lake Sonoma we sort of hit a wall in our plans. We originally planned to go around the lake and stop at 6 different camp sites, BUT some of them were full or closed! also, despite what the lady on the phone told Joe they do take reservations!! How screwed up is that? So instead we are spending two nights here, 2 nights at Buck Pasture, 2 nights at Black Mountains and then one more night back here before heading out. Though I guess then camping trip will be more relaxing this way. I mean, the longest hike was today, which was like 4 miles. In our old plan there was going to be a day where we were going to hike 8 miles! I realized today, after walking only 4 miles, the I'm just not physically fit enough to do 8 miles. 4 was bad enough...

any way, once we got to the camp site (after spending ten or so minutes trying to find camp site one) we rested for a while, right were there is this concert wall with water in it; it looks really pretty (I think). [PHOTO] We think it might be part of the mill that was here a long time ago.
After resting we got our tents set up and then me and Aileen went swimming. There are theses tall trees in the lake [PHOTO] and we hung off of the branches. There were also branches we were able to sit on under the water, it was really fun. But you know, there's somethings the seems odd and eerie about 50ft tall trees submerged in a lake. But I also thought they held a certain beauty to them. (or maybe I'm just weird)

Right now Jeff and Joe are fishing and Aileen is on her sleeping bag reading while I keep an eye on the fire. We really only needed it to boil water for the food, but I guess it's a good idea to keep it going.

All in all today has been pretty fun. The walk over would have been nicer if there weren't so many hills, and also if we hadn't left when it was the hottest. But we have all of tomorrow to relax and swim, so that should be nice.

8:34pm
Hey, Jeff caught a fish! [PHOTO] It's a small fish, but it's something.
